MEET SARAH & BEN

ben and sarah

The story of Ben, a recovering aerospace engineer turned filmmaker, and Sarah, a farm girl turned social media strategist, started back in 2008 when Ben married Sarah’s sister. Ben moved to Kelly and Sarah’s hometown of Bashaw, a rural community of 800 in central Alberta, and left his engineering cubicle to join this passionate farm family as they founded an online start-up called FarmOn.com. For over ten years both Sarah and Ben worked at growing the FarmOn community, by capturing and sharing the unique stories, people, opportunities, challenges and realities of agriculture! As their skills and their passion for telling authentic and engaging stories grew, other companies started asking them to help tell their own stories! Supporting the ag industry as part time freelancers and consultants gradually morphed into what is now a full time media production company, Story Brokers Media House.  Our mission is to share beautiful, inspiring, sometimes heart breaking, and always genuinely real, stories.

  • It has been a pleasure working with Ben for the last few years, on special projects for my dance studio. We have spent hours together doing very heart felt interviews. These interviews are always hard for the people being interviewed but Ben’s interview techniques make them painless. You forget there are cameras and mics in the room and you are just talking with him. In these interviews he has been able to pull out stories that come from the heart and are exactly what we were looking for.
